Ridgewood’s Learning Express Donates To Homeless

RIDGEWOOD, New Jersey. In celebration of Martin Luther King Day and the spirit of helping those in need, Learning Express of Ridgewood was featured in two articles for donating to the We The People organization, which helped create 500 hygiene kits as part of a student service project.

Local students of various backgrounds assembled the kits, which contained toiletries, including soap, shampoo, deodorant, combs, toothbrushes and toothpaste. They were then donated to the Bergen County Homeless Shelter.

Providing these toiletries is critical for the well-being of this population, and it created an opportunity to have children discuss service to others as well as how poverty affects all communities.Tracy Silna Zur, Event Organizer
